school counseling
School Counselors provide valuable assistance to all students, helping them with their academic goals, their social and emotional development, and with their career development. School counselors provide services through classroom guidance, small groups, and individual counseling. They collaborate with the school staff, parents, and the community to help the students in all aspects of their lives. Additionally, school counselors can be the point of contact for resources, Section 504, and McKinney Vento.
Confidentiality: Information shared with the school counselor remains confidential and is not shared with parents, school staff, or others without consent. The exception to this rule is if the child states that they are hurting themselves, hurting someone else, or someone is hurting them.
